Here's Why We Didn't See [SPOILERS] Face In Shazam! Final Scene

There is so much fun to look forward to in Shazam! but one thing certainly stands out. Fans are already hoping to see a familiar face showing up to help Billy Batson in the DC Extended Universe flick. But does this "super" superhero actually show up?

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In the final scene of Shazam!, Billy fulfills his promise to show up as his adult alter ego during lunch at their school so he could sit with foster brother Freddy Freeman. Needless to say, Freddy is a little embarrassed and thrilled to prove that he does know the "Red Cyclone" (seriously, that's just one of the superhero names being tossed around in the film). However, Billy makes it even better by inviting a friend.

At the very last moment, we see Superman walking up with a lunch tray and preparing to sit down beside Freddy. However, the scene is cut off just as Kal-El is about to be seated.

So why did Shazam! decide to cut the scene off at that awesome moment? It may have a lot to do with Henry Cavill not being available to film a cameo. There were speculations that Cavill's demands for the cameo were not met so the film had to work around the crucial scene without him.

Unfortunately, this could confirm that the actor playing Superman in Shazam! is not Cavill at all. Nevertheless, the scene still got the same awesome effect and Freddy's face upon seeing Kal-El was absolutely priceless.

The synopsis for Shazam! is as follows:

Billy Batson is a streetwise 14-year-old who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Shazam! hits the cinemas April 5.
