Marvel might be busy working on the marketing campaign for Ant-Man and the Wasp and on the production of its upcoming films like Captain Marvel and Avengers 4, but the studio's also working on the long game.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a pretty long future ahead of it, and there's been a lot of speculation whether this future could include the introduction of the Young Avengers. For those who aren't familiar with the group, the Young Avengers is a superhero team made up of heroes like Iron Lad, Hulkling, Patriot, Wiccan, Stature, Speed, Kid Loki, a female Hawkeye, and more. Stature is also known as Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang, Marvel's Ant-Man.
With Ant-Man and the Wasp so close to its premiere, Heroic Hollywood decided to ask Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige whether there's room for Cassie Lang and the other young heroes of the Young Avengers joining Runaways, Cloak and Dagger and other projects in the MCU.
"Well…sure. And both of those you just mentioned we talked about for a long time and they went over to be successful TV shows. We've always been fans of Power Pack and figuring that out. And yes. So…where and when we would see the evolution of that? I don't know. And certainly – taking our cue from the comics as we always do – that's why we wanted Cassie, a very young Cassie in this movie, to be inspired by her father. Just planting seeds."
It's interesting to know that Marvel's been two steps ahead, and we can't wait for these seeds to begin sprouting into other characters in the future. It'd definitely be exciting to see Cassie Lang become Marvel's Stature on the big screen. Though we're not quite sure when exactly Marvel's going to bring Stature or any of the other Young Avengers, it seems like Marvel's definitely working on it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is making its way to theatres on July 6.
