Here's How The Last Jedi Actually Helped In Keeping Game Of Thrones Season 8 Secrets

Star Wars: The Last Jedi might not be the most popular film in the franchise yet it had some interesting benefits. The executive producers of Game of Thrones have just revealed that the Rian Johnson movie actually helped in keeping Season 8 spoilers from leaking.

David Benioff and DB Weiss have been producing Game of Thrones since the show's first season and they have learned a lot over the years. The executive producers are understandably secretive about how the series will end and have employed extreme measures to stop spoilers. However, they still learned something new when they met up with Johnson and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy (via Entertainment Weekly).

Weiss stated that Johnson and Kennedy gave some "final-season secrecy tips" that they used while working on the HBO series. "They've given us a lot of hints about how to lock things down, things we never would have thought of or didn't know were possible," he said. Although those secrets might be undiscovered for now, we're hoping that it works so well that we'll never guess what will happen in Game of Thrones Season 8.

In case you were wondering what Benioff and Weiss are doing hanging out with Johnson and Kennedy, the Game of Thrones creators have signed on to write and produce a new Star Wars series. However, the title and story of the new show have not yet been announced.

The official Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere date has not yet been confirmed. However, the final season is expected to air on HBO by summer 2019.
