Here's How Terrifying Geodude Could Look In 'Detective Pikachu'

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu could flop or be the first good video game movie, a crown currently held by Rampage of all things. The one thing this film definitely has going for it is the realistic Pokemon, all of which have looked great thus far. We saw a number of these creatures in the first trailer and we can only hope for more as we near the film's release.

Artist Joshua Dunlop decided to show off his realistic art for Geodude and it's kind of horrifying. In a good way (I think?). The detail on this iteration of the Pokemon is fairly impressive and we would like to see what Graveler and Golem would look like when this version of the rock-type evolves.

Geodude wasn't seen in the first trailer of Detective Pikachu, though Bulbasaur, Greninja, Charmander, and a few others have. We can only assume that more Pokemon will be shown as trailers come out and merchandise for this film should be sweet too. Who wouldn't want a fluffy stuffed toy of Detective Pikachu?

The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu comes out on May 10.
