If you still haven't watched Free Guy, you're missing out on several awesome cameos that will blow your mind. One cameo in particular also has viewers freaking out since it is so unexpected.
But what convinced this major star to join Free Guy? Director Shawn Levy revealed how Ryan Reynolds managed to persuade the A-lister to make an appearance in the movie.

In Free Guy, Reynolds' character Guy faces off against a bigger version of himself called Dude. The fight is intense enough for Guy to need a power-up and gets Captain America's shield.
As the fight continues, the Avengers theme by Alan Silvestri actually plays and at the crucial moment, Guy uses the shield to defend himself from a fatal blow. The scene suddenly jumps to Chris Evans in a coffee shop. He had been watching the whole thing on his cellphone and he yells, "What the sh-t?!"
It's a jaw-dropping sequence that was made possible by Reynolds himself. Levy tells Entertainment Tonight that they were "stoked" when Disney accepted their requests for the theme and the shield. However, the lead star just had to take it one step further.
"Once we had that, then Ryan was like, ‘Wait a second, Chris Evans is in the same town we are shooting his Apple show, Defending Jacob. I'm going to text him and ask him if he'll come by and be in the movie,'" Levy revealed. He then confirmed that Evans agreed to do it if he could film his scene quickly.
"That's how we ended up with Chris Evans, in addition to a lightsaber and a Hulk fist and Cap's shield," Levy concluded.
It's certainly an awesome way to get a big-name cameo and we're glad that Evans found 10 minutes of his time to film it. Needless to say, we're expecting more cameos like this one in Free Guy 2.
Reynolds had previously confirmed that Disney wants to work on a second movie. In the meantime, Free Guy is screening in theaters nationwide.
