Davies released an official announcement about the show’s two new hosts on its website.

In the lengthy message, he excitedly revealed that they had “closed and signed deals” with Bialik and Jennings as the “hosts of Jeopardy! moving forward.”

So, how is having two hosts in one program will work?

The Split Schedules of Mayim Bialik, Ken Jennings

Jennings will start his hosting work in September. He will host the inaugural Second Chance competition and the much-anticipated Tournament of Champions, featuring Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, Ryan Long and more.

“When she takes over from Ken in January, the current plan is to have her host a couple of new tournaments as well as the Jeopardy! National College Championship and as many weeks as she can manage with her other primetime commitment to Call Me Kat,” Davies revealed.

As Davies knows that fans value consistency, he promises they won’t constantly “flip flop the hosts” and will keep them informed of their hosting schedule.

“Mayim and Ken are both extraordinarily talented and simply lovely humans,” Davies continued. “They support the staff and each other. They love and respect this institution of a television program. In return, the staff and I are honored to work alongside them.”

Mayim Bialik, Ken Jennings as Jeopardy! Season 38’s Temporary Hosts

Bialik and Jennings served as Jeopardy! Season 38’s temporary hosts. The two joined the game show after Trebek’s death.

The late iconic host hosted Jeopardy! for 37 seasons. Hence, his demise was a great loss for the show.

From there, many wondered who could replace the legendary host like Trebek. The show has featured a number of celebrity guest hosts since then.

Eventually, Mike Richards, the show’s executive producer, got the hosting job, though he lost it, along with his producing role due to a podcast controversy.

Since then, Bialik and Jennings have been at the helm of the show. So, why two hosts? A source told Variety it was due to the “plans for more versions of the program.”

Jeopardy! Season 39 will premiere on September 12.
