Zac Efron Teases Return in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3
Efron teased his return in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 with a photo on Instagram.
He instantly made fans frenzy when he shared a photo of himself in front of East High, the show’s main location.
He captioned the snap with, “Don’t you forget about me,” which was a nod to another teen classic, The Breakfast Club.

As expected, many flocked to his comment box, asking the 34-year-old actor if he would make a cameo in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3.
Aside from Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, who played the original show’s co-lead Gabriella Montez, also visited East High in June.
She posted a video of herself on Instagram featuring the familiar scenery of the university.

So, is there a chance for these two to be seen in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3?

Though High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 now tells a different story, it still features Corbin Bleu as himself. He played Chad Danforth in the original High School Musical trilogy.
With that said, he can be the way for Efron and Hudgens to join the series, per Screen Rant.
Though the two are yet to reveal their possible appearances in the series despite dropping some hints through their posts, it’s not far from happening.

The new season will center on the main characters’ adventure in Camp Shallow Lake, where they will hold a summer production of Frozen.
The production and the behind-the-scenes works will be part of a documentary that Bleu produces. With this meta-approach, Efron can make a cameo in the meta-leaning episodes.
He may be seen as a part of the documentary, probably sharing the screen with Ricky (Joshua Bassett) or helping Nini (Olivia Rodrigo) to get a proper sendoff.
As Efron also wanted to make a High School Musical reboot, the documentary might set his return in East High.
