Here's How Darth Vader Might Appear In Star Wars Episode IX

The highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode IX is still a huge mystery, from its premise to its actual title. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that Darth Vader is set for a major comeback next year.

The hint comes from a tweet by SlashFilm editor Peter Sciretta, who suggested that the best way to find out what will happen in Episode IX is to check the Star Wars: The Force Awakens art book.

Needless to say, the post blew up and fans began scouring the concept art in TFA. One of the most astonishing discoveries was an image of Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost slowly gradually turning into Darth Vader.

The concept art was created by Iain McCaig and appears in The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Additionally, there is an image of Anakin's Force Ghost standing behind an older Luke Skywalker while Darth Vader looms behind them. Needless to say, people are already expecting Vader to appear as a Force Ghost who will communicate with his grandson Kylo Ren.

Darth Vader's return would certainly make sense considering that Episode IX is rumored to be titled Son of Darkness, an obvious reference to Kylo Ren. In addition to that, the character is believed to have found his way to Vader's fortress in Mustafar.

Although this is an interesting idea, it is best to point out that none of the details have been confirmed just yet. With that in mind, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX will premiere on December 20, 2019.
