Here’s How Black Panther’s Letitia Wright Found Out She Was Appearing In Avengers: Infinity War

Disarmingly witty, Letitia Wright's Shuri became an easy favorite in Black Panther, wowing fans with her intelligence and her charm.

However, while many were expecting to see T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) would be joining the battle against the Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, Wright told Marvel fans at a recent Q and A session (via Game Spot) that she was actually surprised that she was invited to join the studio's two-part Avengers movie while finishing work on Black Panther.

"Listen, I was just mindin' my own business, trying to finish off Black Panther ... as you do," the actress said laughing. "And then the execs at Marvel said, 'We need to talk to you' and I thought, 'Dammit, what did I do. Did I leak something? Did I steal something? I take extra food at lunch so...' Then they got on the phone and said, 'Do you want to be in the next Avengers?'"

Wright was so shocked that she'd been invited to join Infinity War, she actually wondered whether she had to read some lines for Marvel to prove her worth as a cast member of the superhero crossover movie.

"I was like, 'What? Just like that? What about the audition process, do I have to do something? Read some lines?' They were like, 'No, kid. Just say yes and be in the film, and we'll see you in June.' Then I met the [Russo] brothers, and they said, 'This is your lab, this is what you're doing.' It was just amazing. I am so grateful to be a part of it," Wright gushed.

The Avengers are going to need all the help they can get when they fight against Thanos, and we're expecting Shuri to cook up some great weapons to help in the battle for the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
