Heo Sung Tae New Drama: Squid Game Actor Scores New Role After Success of Series Insider

Heo Sung Tae cannot stop appearing in more flicks as he received a new offer amid the success of Insider.

Heo Sung Tae is having a fruitful year after the actor secured several roles in different series and films. As of press time, he is scheduled to appear in the dramas Casino and Adamas. The Squid Game actor also currently stars in Bloody Heart and Insider.

On top of these, he has also been tapped to join the cast members of Boys, Hunt, and Night Trip.

But the offers did not stop there after Heo Sung confirmed his participation in the mystery thriller drama, Chronicles of Crime.

Heo Sung Tae To Play Main Villain in Chronicles of Crime

In an exclusive report shared by YTN Star, it was confirmed that Heo Sung Tae would play the main antagonist of the drama once he accepted the role. Jang Geun Suk is yet to accept the offer to become the main lead of the series.

Heo Sung Tae will play the role of con artist named Hee Dae.

Chronicles of Crime (tentative title) will explore the story of Cho Hee Pal, a detective who chases criminals like Hee Dae.

It will act as his third upcoming drama after Casino and Adamas. It will also become a great addition to the projects under his belt and join several flicks he already did, like Beyond Evil, The Outlaws, The Age of Shadows, and Rampant.

In addition, Chronicles of Crime will mark director Kim Hong Seon’s new work. He previously worked on several hits like Metamorphosis, The Guest, and Voice. The showrunner also helmed the ongoing Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area.

Heo Sung Tae Suffers Social Anxiety

Amid the popularity he is getting, the actor also opened up about the social anxiety he developed after starring in Squid Game.

Heo Sung Tae revealed during the press conference of his drama, Bloody Heart, that one of his scenes with Choi Ri was canceled because of the condition.

"After Squid Game, I actually had some sort of social anxiety disorder. My first scene with Choi Ri got canceled once because of that. I just couldn't pull it off well then. I felt terrible about that. I felt so sorry for Choi Ri,” he said, per SBS Star.

The actor once revealed that he had to gain weight for a short period of time for Squid Game and then lose 10 kilos for his next project. Unfortunately, it affected his health.

But with his continuous appearances, his fans could not help but wish for his good health while filming his projects.
