Henry Golding Shares First Look at GI Joe: Snake Eyes

Just like with Transformers and Bumblebee, Hasbro is set to reboot the GI Joe franchise with a spinoff starring the silent ninja Snake Eyes. Henry Golding is set to star as the titular character, and he just shared our first look at the film.

Check it out:

Besides Snake Eyes, the movie will also have an appearance from other regular Joe characters like Storm Shadow (Andrew Koji), The Baroness (Ursula Corbero), and Scarlett (Samara Weaving). The movie also has The Raid's Iko Uwais starring as the "Hard Master."

With GI Joe: Retaliation bombing back in 2013, the franchise is primed and ready for a reboot. Hopefully Hasbro finds a good balance of tone, because even if Joe fans may be adults now, they still want the kids to love this movie; after all, a lot of the franchise's money comes from the toys. Probably the sweet spot is to find something the fans of the original will enjoy, while at the same time draw in a younger, fresh audience.

With a release date set for October, it's likely we'll get our first teaser for the film in June. Then again, I'm open to something dropping earlier in the year. With all this time since the last Joe movie, I'm actually open to coming back to the world and seeing how things have been updated.

GI Joe: Snake Eyes is set to come out Oct. 16.
