Whether Henry Cavill is the best live-action version of Superman or not is up for debate but for a lot of fans, his take on the Man of Steel is beyond astounding that they think he's easily the most definitive big-screen iteration of the iconic DC character. It's crystal clear that Cavill has gained a cult following over the years but for some reason, it feels like Warner Bros. can't seem to get behind the British actor despite his popularity amongst DC Extended Universe fans.

It's been close to four years since we last saw The Witcher actor in a DCEU project excluding his appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League and as it stands, it looks like WB still doesn't have any plans for him. Now, a new rumor suggests that Cavill's version of the mighty Kryptonian could be erased from existence in the upcoming The Flash film.

A Reddit rumor claims that Sasha Calle's cameo in The Flash as Supergirl isn't going to be a one-off and current plans call for her to stay in the DCEU after the film hits the "reset" button on the franchise. A lot of you may be aware by now that the Ezra Miller-led film is rumored to change the course of the DC film franchise and a major shakeup could take place real soon, including Michael Keaton officially replacing Ben Affleck as the Batman/Bruce Wayne canon to the DCEU.

Of course, just like any other rumor, you better take this one with a huge grain of salt but considering WB's bad reputation, it wouldn't be surprising if the studio resets everything in the DCEU and only retaining the things they want to keep. If that's the case, then things just got more complicated and not even the most hardcore fan could adjust to the changes that are about to be made. Hopefully, they truly know what they're doing.

The Flash hits cinemas in November 2022.
