The DC fanbase received quite a shock earlier this morning. Word came out that Henry Cavill was exiting his role as Superman in Warner Brother's burgeoning DC Extended Universe, with multiple reports saying that the studio has begun shifting its focus on a Supergirl origin story instead.
Though Cavill's manager Dany Garcia has tried to assuage the situation by telling fans that the situation is still ongoing and that the actor's "cape is still in his closet," Warner Brothers statement regarding the issue has been rather cryptic and vague.
"While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we've always had great respect for a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged," the studio wrote in their statement regarding the matter.
Cavill's response to the whole ordeal has also been rather indistinct, the British actor sharing a voiceless video of himself wearing a Krypton shirt and showing off a Superman figure on Instagram.
However, while it remains fairly uncertain what's going to happen to Cavill's Superman, fans are out there looking after the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star, thinking up of roles that he could play in Marvel.

Of course, there's no really knowing whether or not Cavill will be taken into the MCU especially since he's been one of the biggest faces in the rival studio's burgeoning superhero franchise, but you never really know. Cavill is a great actor who's in great shape and Marvel is going to need new faces after Avengers 4.
