Henry Cavill Is Interested to Play This Marvel Hero

Henry Cavill is definitely one of the most beloved actors today thanks to his role as Superman in the DCEU and Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series The Witcher. A lot of fans are petitioning for him to be the next James Bond. There are also fans who would like to see him jump to the MCU and play Captain Britain. As it turns out, Cavill is aware of it and he would be interested to take the role too.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill was asked about the fan petitions on him playing Captain Britain in the MCU. He said, "I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else because everyone’s doing such an amazing job. However, I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British."

There you go, Cavill himself has said that he would be interested to play Captain Britain. Of course, he is currently known for playing Superman in the DCEU and that could hold him from jumping to the MCU. However, there are no confirmed plans for him yet to return in the role so he might actually be free to possibly be part of the MCU if he wants to. He wouldn't also be the first actor who is going to jump from another major superhero movie franchise to another as many actors have done it before.

Captain Britain is obviously a beloved character in the comics ever since his first issue back in October 1976 and we know that fans would love to see him jump to the big screen. In some ways, the MCU has explored the character a bit before. During the first episode of What If?..., we were able to see an alternative universe where Peggy Carter took the super-soldier serum instead and become Captain Carter, in which her suit is slightly similar to Captain Britain in the comics.

Right now, Cavill is busy at the moment. He has the second season of The Witcher coming next month on Netflix. He is currently filming the action movie Argylle and the sequel to Enola Holmes. He is also attached to star in a reboot of Highlander. Despite being involved in so many projects, maybe he could leave room for Captain Britain.
