Henry Cavill Seemingly Confirms Highlander Reboot Casting

In case you missed it, there have been reports confirming that Henry Cavill is currently in negotiations to work on the upcoming Highlander reboot. Interestingly, the Justice League star may have confirmed that a deal has been made. Cavill just teased on his casting in the highly anticipated fantasy remake.

It was previously reported that Cavill is already in talks to star in the Highlander reboot. If a deal is made, the Man of Steel actor is expected to take on the lead role in the upcoming flick directed by John Wick's Chad Stahelski. This means he could be playing Connor McLeod, who was originally portrayed by Christopher Lambert in the 1986 film.

Interestingly, Cavill may have confirmed the casting. The star of The Witcher has shared a screenshot of the article detailing the negotiations along with some research material. Make sure to swipe through the post to see the second image below.

"Being not shy with swords, and having a director as talented as Chad Stahelski at the helm, this is an opportunity like no other. Deep diving into franchise storytelling with all the tools at our disposal, is going to make this an adventure I (and hopefully all of you) shall never forget," Cavill wrote.

"And as you can see from the swipe, I've lately been dipping into some of my Scottish heritage, and inadvertently getting my base line research underway!" he added.

It's great to know that Cavill will be joining the project. We'll just have to wait for an official announcement from Lionsgate about the casting so we can be sure which character he will be playing.

In the meantime, Cavill is set to return as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 2. The series has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to air on Netflix later this year.
