Hellbound Season 2 to Premiere in 2023 or 2024

According to Pinkvilla, the Hellbound joins a slew of Netflix series returning for a second installment.

Recently, the streaming giant announced through its GeekedWeek that All of Us Are Dead season 2 is officially making a comeback.

As for the mystery thriller series, the outlet cited that Hellbound season 2 is scheduled to start its production in 2023.

With this, the target release date is slated sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.

However, as of this writing, Netflix is yet to officially confirm the update regarding Hellbound season 2.

To recall, the mystery thriller series is among the K-contents that created a buzz.

Released on November 19, 2021, with six episodes in total, the supernatural series made it to Netflix's top 10 tv shows worldwide.

Helmed by Yeon Sang-Ho, Hellbound is based on the webtoon of the same name, which depicts the story of a new religious group, The New Truth or Saejinrihoe.

The budding organization is led by Jung Jin-Soo, played by Yoo Ah In. The New Truth focuses on the preparation of the human race for unearthly creatures who are sent for damnation.

Amid the chaos and supernatural phenomena condemning humans to hell, the religious group took this as an opportunity to grow in influence.

However, only a few, including the fearless lawyer Min Hye Jin (Kim Hyun Joo) and detective Jin Kyung Hoon (Yang Ik Jun), were suspicious of The New Truth and its activities.

With Hellbound leaving a dramatic cliffhanger, viewers were hopeful that the dark fantasy webtoon series would return for season 2.

What to Expect in Hellbound Season 2?

Hellbound left viewers with a lot of unsolved mysteries starting with Kim Shin Rok's character.

In the last episode, Park Jung Ja, the single mother who died in the hands of two mysterious creatures and was witnessed by the public, was apparently brought back to life.

She returned to the exact place where she was burned to ashes and condemned to hell.

With this, some predict that Park Jung Ja is set for a groundbreaking comeback in Hellbound season 2.

It is possible that she will uncover the truth behind the supernatural phenomenon and might awaken the public regarding the reason for The New Truth's existence.

While the sequel might focus on Park Jung Ja, the second season would most likely to cast new characters, and some will reprise their roles.

It includes detective Jin Kyung Hoon and the couple Bae Young Jae ( Park Jung Min) and Song So Hyun (Won Jin Ah.)

Interestingly, lead star Yoo Ah In also spoke about the possibility of season 2.

According to Soompi, the award-winning actor was disappointed with his character's death and thought that "it would be great" if he could make a comeback.

Yoo Ah In also expressed his gratitude for the popularity of the Netflix series.

He says that he is "thankful" that he gets to "experience this as an actor," adding that this "isn't something that happens on the world stage every day."
