Hayden Christensen’s Upcoming Appearance Suggests Darth Vader Cameo In Star Wars: Episode IX

Lucasfilm might have revealed very little about what's to come in Star Wars: Episode IX but there's certainly been a whole lot of wild theories circulating around online. This includes the popular theory that the sequel to The Last Jedi might feature some elements from the Star Wars prequel trilogy – Hayden Christensen's Darth Vader to be more specific.

Though there hasn't been any concrete evidence to confirm the theory, We Got This Covered reports that Christensen has recently been scheduled for an upcoming appearance at this year's Rhode Island Comic Con. For the past few years, Christensen has kept himself from the spotlight, avoiding Star Wars conventions and panels.

Now, seeing that Christensen is scheduled to appear at the 2018 Rhode Island Comic-Con, fans have started speculating that the actor might be easing his way back into the Star Wars scene to prepare everyone for a potential cameo in Episode IX.

Sure, the Star Wars sequel trilogy might take place decades after the prequels, but who's to say that Christensen can't appear as a Force Ghost in Episode IX? After all, Yoda did have a pretty bang-up cameo in The Last Jedi.

Some might argue that not many fans think so fondly of Christensen and the prequels, however, how could one say no to a potential return of Anakin after his stint as Darth Vader? Besides, J.J. Abrams did once consider adding in the bones of Jar Jar Binks as a fun little Easter Egg in his first Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.

Of course, this is all just wild speculation. Theories remain just that until we get specific confirmation from Lucasfilm itself. Let's just cross our fingers and wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled to premiere on December 20, 2019.
