In a recent interview, Christensen was asked about the popularity of the meme surrounding Anakin saying "I don't like sand" to Padme Amidala in Attack of the Clones.

He admitted that he was surprised by the meme's popularity and understood where Anakin's sentiment came from during the scene even if it came out the wrong way for some fans.

"I had no idea, and I always enjoyed that scene, and I appreciated sort of where the sentiment was coming from. And was sort of a powerful metaphor for the sort of uncomfortableness of his upbringing in a lot of ways. But yeah, people really took to that line," the Ahsoka star said.

Whether the scene worked for you or not (aside from the meme of it all), there's no doubt that it has resonated with the fans in so many ways due to either the line being unintentionally hilarious or the romance that was blossoming between Anakin and Padme during the moment.

It is also clear from Christensen's comments that the scene is still being brought up to him even to this day, which just shows its impact on pop culture and how unexpected moments can become popular for fans.

Despite the many memes that have been generated, the Star Wars prequel trilogy will always have a special place for generations of fans who discovered the franchise because of the three films.
