Hawkeye Star Vincent D'onofrio Confirms Kingpin's Post-Blip Fate

We're all happy to see Wilson Fisk back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, he was a terrifying villain in Daredevil and continues to be an imposing figure after everything that happened in the Netflix series. But what happened to Kingpin before his return in Hawkeye? Vincent D'onofrio has revealed how the Blip affected Fisk and what he is doing in the future.

In the Hawkeye finale, it was confirmed that Eleanor Bishop worked with Kingpin because Kate Bishop's father owed the crime lord some money. Although Fisk doesn't look any different than he did in Daredevil, Vincent D'onofrio confirmed that he has been through a lot.

D'onofrio recently responded to comments under his Twitter post celebrating Kingpin's appearance in Hawkeye. Interestingly, the Daredevil star confirmed that he is playing the same character from the Netflix show and confirmed that Fisk was greatly affected by the Blip.

"Trust me In Hawkeye I'm playing the character as if the character from DD survivor of 'the blip' is now set on getting back his city," D'onofrio wrote. "The blip weakened his crown, his authority over his kingdom. Now he wants it back. He's in damage control mode."

It's an interesting revelation considering that we haven't thought about the characters from the Netflix shows being affected by the Blip. Additionally, it's awesome to know that Kingpin wasn't snapped away but that didn't save him from a terrible fate after the Blip.

But will we see more of Kingpin after the Hawkeye finale? There have been concerns that Maya Lopez had killed him although his "death" happened off-screen. We would like to believe he survived and will continue to play a huge role in the MCU. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

All episodes of Hawkeye are now streaming on Disney+.
