Hawkeye Series Reportedly Casting Marvel Comic Villain as Show's Main Antagonist

It may have taken a while but we're finally getting more updates on the Hawkeye series. A new report reveals that the Disney+ show is now looking for actors to play a Marvel comic book villain who will be the main antagonist going up against Clint Barton.

According to The Illuminerdi, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series has released a casting call for a character with the code name Arek. "He is male, 20-30 years old, and is described as having an Eastern European background," the description reads. It is also stated that "Arek is expected to appear in five out of six episodes of the series."

So who is this mysterious character? There are speculations that the new villain is Marvel baddie The Clown. The character, who has appeared in Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye comic series, is a mercenary who has worked with Kingpin in an effort to defeat Clint. The Clown, whose real name is Kazimierz Kazimierczak, is a Polish man and would fit the Eastern European casting call.

For now, Marvel and Disney have not yet made an official announcement about The Clown being introduced in Hawkeye. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

In addition to casting the villain for Hawkeye, it is believed that Marvel is still looking for the show's Kate Bishop. It was previously reported that Ready Player One actress Olivia Cooke is being considered for the role but has yet to be announced.
