While everyone is speculating that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield might be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, a lot of MCU fans are also speculating about the possible appearance of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin in Hawkeye. After all, Maya Lopez is one of the main characters in the series and, in the comics, she has a deep connection with Kingpin.
For the last few weeks, several scoopers have said that D'Onofrio will indeed be appearing as Kingpin in Hawkeye and he will have a much different look than the one where we saw him in Netflix's Daredevil. Now, Twitter user @gansta_a has posted a photo (you can view it here at your own risk) that shows the alleged look of Kingpin in the series and it has a "Property of Marvel" watermark on it. He did however write in the caption that we should take it with a grain of salt.
Looking at the leaked photos, there is a chance that perhaps it might be true and the Twitter user even said that he heard that the photo he posted is likely to be real. As of the time of this writing, the post has not been taken down.
If D'Onofrio as Kingpin does make an appearance in a future episode, it wouldn't be the first time that an MCU series will pull off a surprise to the audience. They did it on WandaVision with Evan Peters, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with Florence Kasumba and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and in the final episode of Loki with Jonathan Majors. There's no doubt that if Kingpin will pop up in the series, fans will definitely freak out and it would be one of the top trends in social media.
There are four episodes left in Hawkeye so there is still a chance for D'Onofrio to appear. With the arrival of Maya Lopez at the end of the second episode, it is a sign that we might be getting closer to that. Of course, it is also likely that he won't be appearing at all and it's all just a rumor. Let's just wait and see.
New episodes of Hawkeye premiere every Wednesday on Disney+.
