Marvel Allegedly Considering the Option of Not Bringing Back Jeremy Renner for Hawkeye Series

Avengers star Jeremy Renner is currently under scrutiny after his ex-wife said he allegedly threatened to kill himself and her while they were together, and as you can see, there's a likelihood that Disney would want to part ways with him should any of this be true. Now rumor has it that Marvel Studios is considering options should Renner not be allowed to come back for Disney+'s Hawkeye series.

This comes from insider Daniel Richtman:

We don't have any specifics on what kind of options Marvel is considering, but I can already imagine some fixes from the top of my head. They could simply kill Hawkeye off in the beginning and forcing Kate Bishop to take up the mantle, or they could just have him in a limited role, having him appear in only one or two episodes. Maybe they can cancel production until everything blows over, and put the focus on Ms. Marvel first.

While many have been quick to jump on the Renner hate train, Renner himself was said to have filed legal documents claiming that is was his ex-wife (and not him) that had substance abuse problems and that he should be taking care of their daughter. Renner has also said that he's submitted himself for random drug testing and even hired a mental health specialist to prove that he was a ‘sober and capable parent.'

We don't know how all of this will go down, but hopefully, it will turn out for the best.

Disney+'s Hawkeye is eyeing a release in the fall of 2021.
