Hawkeye Episode 5 Answers Major Infinity War Question about Yelena Belova

We already know that Yelena Belova is going after Clint Barton, thanks to the Black Widow post-credits scene. But why didn't we see her in action any time before that? Hawkeye Episode 5 finally revealed something new about Yelena and we now know what happened to her during Avengers: Infinity War! SPOILERS AHEAD PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

In Hawkeye Episode 5, Yelena Belova visited Kate Bishop in her apartment where Yelena told Kate about her mission to kill Clint Barton. However, Yelena also opened up about her past. Interestingly, a flashback scene also reveals that she was one of the millions of people who were blipped away when Thanos snapped his fingers.

It's an interesting revelation considering that people always assumed Yelena Belova may have been snapped away in Infinity War because of the Black Widow post-credits scene. However, it is now clear that the visit to Natasha Romanoff's grave may have been her first. In addition to that, we finally saw what it was like for the people who got blipped.

Yelena's appearance in Hawkeye Episode 5 was certainly an awesome one since we were all hoping to see more of her in the show. However, it was also great to finally learn more about the character and how she truly feels about her mission. Perhaps the best thing that Yelena did in the episode was that she confirmed who truly hired her to kill Barton and her connection to Maya Lopez's mysterious uncle.

There is little doubt that there will be more of Yelena in the season finale of Hawkeye. Hopefully, that means more action and an excellent tease at her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the meantime, we'll keep rewatching the fifth season just to see Yelena make mac and cheese.

Hawkeye Episode 5 is titled Ronin and is now streaming on Disney+.
