We all knew that it was only a matter of time before Yelena Belova exacted her revenge on Clint Barton who is being wrongfully framed for the death of Natasha Romanoff. However, Hawkeye's latest episode pretty much sealed the deal on Yelena's true motive, and turns out, she is hitting two birds with one stone. Yes, she is out to kill Barton who she believes is responsible for killing Natasha, but there's apparently another individual who wants him dead and that person actually hired Belova to do the job.
Episode 5 was special for a number of reasons, mainly because it finally saw the jaw-dropping arrival of Kingpin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But apart from that, the episode also pulls a shocking twist on Kate Bishop's mother Eleanor. Not only is she seemingly working with Wilson Fisk, as seen during the episode's closing moments, but Eleanor was also actually the one who hired Yelena to kill Clint.
What's even more surprising is the fact that Yelena only knew about it in the end which I guess makes total sense because Eleanor would like to keep her reputation clean.

Well, to be fair, Eleanor has been displaying a villainous aura in her since the beginning. It would be safe to assume that she wants Barton out of the picture to protect her husband Jack Duquesne and his shady dealings. The real question is, how will Kate react to this revelation about her mother? Is she going to side with her blood or with someone whom she barely knows? We have one more episode to find out.
