It looks like Hasbro has big plans to expand to expand the Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons franchises. Hasbro has also made Wizards of the Coast into its own operating division, and will be tasked with expanding Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and other existing games, overseeing digital licensing and creating new games for all of Hasbro.

Hasbro also announced its plans to build a new line of Magic: The Gathering products called "Universes Beyond", which will feature MTG cross-over with various other popular franchises. The first one will be with Dungeons & Dragons-themed MTG set, Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures of the Forgotten Realms, which is scheduled to release this summer. In addition to D&D, Universes Beyond will also feature characters and concepts from The Lord of the Rings and Warhammer 40,000.

Both MTG & D&D has over 40 million players and have been profitable in recent years. They've also been central to Hasbro's digital growth, largely thanks to the success of Magic: The Gathering Arena.
