Harry Potter: Emma Watson's Double Looks Back On Punching Draco Malfoy

Despite the emotional end for the franchise more than a decade ago, Harry Potter will always remain in our hearts. Following Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) together with his best friends, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), we were immediately captured by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with eight films. Following a spin-off in 2016, starring Eddie Redmayne in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and now in its threequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore releasing on April 8, 2022.

One of our favorite characters in the Harry Potter franchise was the intelligent, determined and loyal friend to Harry is Hermione Granger. Her intelligence clearly stands out saving his friends multiple times from the villains and bad guys across the films. One particular moment in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where he punched Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) in one scene.

Now, Emma Watson's body double, Flick Miles, discussed in an interview with Scottish Daily Express her experience shooting the scene where she was supposed to punch Malfoy. Miles revealed that she has never thrown a punch in her life and went on to say that Felton was a great sport and no real contact was done in the scene. The star explained,

"It was probably cut because my punch was really rubbish and so not convincing so they just kept in Emma's. I am a really non-athletic person. I have never thrown a punch before in my life and the team told me just go for it so you are like 'oh okay'. It is such a great scene, isn't it. I filmed the scene as well and so did Emma, so that happens all the time, we both film a scene and they just edit it together. Our hands did not connect with his face it was more like a pass to him and he did the reaction. Tom is a great sport so he found it funny as well. Malfoy is a great character, and completely different to what Tom is like in real life, he is such a lovely person [laughs] so I think he was slightly glad the character got put in his place a little bit too."

Miles continued to explain how it was a fun moment and also substantial because "Hermione is finally standing up for herself." And let's admit it, Hermione punching Draco was one of the memorable scenes across the Harry Potter franchise.

It's good to hear that Flick Miles had a wonderful experience filming Harry Potter: Prisoners of Askaban. Miles was also a body double for Emma Watson for three films. It seems Miles will always treasure the experience with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

For now, we can experience the magical world once again as Fantastic Beasts: Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will premiere on April 8.
