Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of the most anticipated Marvel releases this year as it is expected to have a massive effect on the projects that will come after it. An important character would be making her MCU debut in the movie and it is America Chavez, a.k.a. Miss America, and the producer of the film explained why she is necessary for the story.
Not your typical teenager, America Chavez is a hero with superhuman strength and durability. She could fly and could kick open star-shaped holes on the mantle of reality, thus, giving her the ability to travel through various realities and the multiverse itself. At times, her speed can match that of light. The punches she throws are extraordinary, having some kind of energy blast with it. Yet, she remains another annoying kid for Doctor Strange.
Her presence, however, is necessary for Doctor Strange to be able to save the multiverse from collapsing before his eyes. Her powers speak for itself. She could open star-shaped portals through realities and between universes and this upcoming installment of Doctor Strange has in its very title the Multiverse of Madness, maybe a kid like America Chavez, could hold some key in it.
The producer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Richi Palmer, explained why America Chavez is a must-have in the story of the film. He talked about it in the D23 Magazine saying, "America is someone we've been trying to get into the MCU for a long time. This felt like the best place to do it, because 'Multiverse' is in the title and her powers specifically have to do with the Multiverse – her powers being that she can punch open doorways to other universes."

Palmed added that America Chavez will bring into the table something no one has ever seen in the MCU, "That's something we haven't seen in our movies, a character who can actually walk from one universe to another. That's maddening in itself for characters such as Doctor Strange and Wong, whose jobs are to protect those barriers."
In various trailers, the powers of America Chavez remain hidden and what makes her known is her denim jacket with a star on the back. Her full potential is yet unknown in the MCU and for Strange to encounter yet another powerful individual like her, he could use it to their advantage in saving the multiverse.
Speculations also point that America Chavez would be a target of various multiversal threats due to her abilities. Other theories point that her power could threaten a variant of Scarlet Witch resulting to a fiasco between them. All else, greatness lies in America Chaves.
Xochitl Gomez plays America Chavez/ Miss America on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She is set to make her debut on May 6, 2022.
