Harrison Ford Digitally Inserted In Solo: A Star Wars Story’s Trailer

Lucasfilm might have Hail Ceasar! actor Alden Ehrenreich as the galaxy far, far away's new young Han Solo for Solo: A Star Wars Story, but fans can't help but wonder what the spinoff might have been like if they had a younger Harrison Ford play the role instead.

Upset that Lucasfilm didn't cast an actor resembling Harrison Ford, one fan managed to past the original Han Solo's face unto Ehrenreich's body in one of the trailers for the highly anticipated Star Wars spinoff. The video's editor, Nick Acosta, dubbed the project "True Solo." On his Vimeo, the Star Wars fan explained that he decided to put up replace Ehrenreich with Ford because he couldn't help but wonder "what would this movie look like if you could magically transport a young Harrison Ford to play his iconic character."

A lot of other Star Wars fans probably feel the same way.

Given this age of technology, one has to wonder why Lucasfilm just didn't digitally create a young Harrison Ford. After all, the studio did manage to cook up a young Leia (Carrie Fisher) in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Maybe Ford himself didn't like the idea of working on another Star Wars film. Maybe the studio just wanted to try something different.

All we know is that Ehrenreich is our new young Han Solo, and as far as criticism goes, the cast and crew and The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson have nothing but good things to say about the actor's performance in Solo.

Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres next week, May 25.
