Hannibal Buress Paid An Imposter To Replace Him In The Spider-Man: Homecoming Premiere

Spider-Man: Homecoming is chock-full of celebrity appearances, and one of them is comedian Hannibal Buress who plays Peter Parker's gym teacher, Coach Wilson. In what seems like his true comedic fashion, Buress had hired an actor to impersonate him on the premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Buress had put out a casting call for his imposter earlier that day and offered $500 to go to an unnamed event.

And the winner? Los Angeles director/screenwriter/actor Joe Carroll. He was said to be picked up in a limo to the event, and he was even answering questions to the media as Buress. As for Buress himself, he was just watching the premiere from another location.

When @hannibalburess hits you up and tells you to crash the red carpet since he couldn't make it.... You crash the damn red carpet. PS: my driver will NOT STFU.... #standIn #bodyDouble #whichIsWhich #partyCrasher #redcarpet #weAllLookAlikeRight?

I absolutely love Buress' sense of humor, and I can't wait to see what Coach Wilson will be like in the movie. Buress has always been getting these small but hilarious roles in big comedy movies, and he just nails it whenever his character appears in Broad City.

Hopefully it's safe to say that we see the actual Buress appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.
