Halloween Ends Star Jamie Lee Curtis 'Absolutely' Wants a Freaky Friday Sequel

Halloween Ends actress Jamie Lee Curtis recently revealed on The View that she has ‘already written to Disney’ to do a Freaky Friday sequel. The actress first shared this eagerness for a Freaky Friday sequel in a crowd in Mexico City while promoting Halloween Ends.

“Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon (who played the step-father in the first film). . .And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”

Curtis also shared in the same crowd that she and Lindsay Lohan have been still keeping in touch through texting, saying that Lindsay texted her the other day while shooting for her new film Irish Wish in Ireland. She later added, “Anyway, Freaky Friday remake? Absolutely.”

Every time Curtis contacts Lindsay, though as close and as strong her relationship had become, she regularly tests her ‘to make sure it’s not a phishing scam’. The test for Lindsay would always reference a moment they shared on the set of Freaky Friday. Who could forget this iconic car scene moment?

“What was the song that you and I were trying to learn the rap [that’s] in the middle of the song while we were sitting in the car doing the scene while we were eating French Fries? The answer is the Justin Timberlake song Like I Love You. She and I were playing the tape, then we’d go back and rewind, the two of us were writing the lyrics to that whole rap in the car in Freaky Friday.”

Commonly, in many confirmed remakes and long-awaited sequels, fans would grow even more nostalgic to find that their childhood favorite show actors would be so willing to return and make another film like Freaky Friday. There could be another plot point of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan having to switch with other characters to broaden their horizon, just like in the first film, but perhaps with new characters to explore?

Curtis continues to make press rounds for Halloween Ends, where she reprises the role of Laurie Strode. Halloween Ends will premiere on October 14 in theaters and on Peacock.
