Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for the Wind Breaker manga series, so proceed with caution.

Hajime Umemiya Has a Visible Scar in Wind Breaker

Surprisingly, Hajime Umemiya is receiving the most attention from fans, not only because he shares the same voice actor as Jujutsu Kaisen's Gojo Satoru, but also because of his cheery, outgoing, and carefree personality, which is unlike other delinquent anime characters.

In addition, he has the same white hair as Gojo Satoru, making him appealing to female supporters. He also looks playful, but he exudes a charisma that compels others to rely on him for a variety of reasons.

Unlike the other students at Bofurin High, Umemiya wears an extended uniform with a long tailcoat reminiscent of traditional delinquent or gang outfits.

Noticeably, Umemiya has a slit or a scar through his left eyebrow, which makes him more badass, as if he has overcome a lot of difficult stuff from the past.

After all, it’s not uncommon for an anime character such as Umemiya to have a painful backstory that could possibly explain his scar.

What’s up with Hajime Umemiya’s Scar in Wind Breaker?

If you’re an anime-only fan, then you might have a lot of questions regarding Hajime Umemiya’s scar or slit in his eyebrow.

Umemiya’s scar is a remembrance of his painful and traumatizing past, as revealed in the Wind Breaker manga chapter 93 titled Hajime Umemiya’s Childhood Days, part 1.

Accordingly, Umemiya lost his parents and unborn sibling in a tragic accident that left a scar on his left eyebrow.

On that particular day, Umemiya was fascinated with the action figurines displayed in what seemed like a toy store.

He was so absorbed in it that he didn’t notice that a speeding truck went out of control and was heading his way.

It was Umemiya’s parents who pushed him away at the last minute and died in the process.

As a result, he became an orphan at a young age and began jumping from one foster care facility to another.

He blamed himself for the deaths of his loved ones, going so far as to call himself a murderer. Thankfully, he recovered at some point in the manga series.
