Daum Sports Seoul published a report regarding Haesoo's death and the thriving trot industry.
Haesoo's representative confirmed the shocking news through an announcement posted on her fan café on Monday. The message added that her family wants to hold her funeral privately.

While it did not detail how she died, local media outlets cited police reports confirming on Saturday that the trot singer was found dead inside her hotel room on Friday. She reportedly left a suicide note, but its details have not been publicized yet.
Media outlets said Haesoo's sudden death showed the dark side of the industry despite its current growing popularity. In fact, South Korea has been launching festivals and events for trot singers.
Trot Industry's Demand Decreased During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Another trot singer, Jiwoni, confirmed in a recent interview that she currently performs four to five days a week, which is lesser than her 70 to 80 monthly schedules before the pandemic. Meanwhile, Hong Jin Young said she used to have eight events in a single day.
While the industry suggests that singers who join the trot industry "won't starve to death," industry insiders said otherwise.
Despite the increase in audition programs and trot shows, trot singers are reportedly yet to get back their careers due to the limited stage.
Despite that, it remains unknown whether Haesoo's death is related to the current status of the industry.
