Ha Ji Won is not just a sought-after female lead, but she also impresses viewers with her kickass action stunts.

Although she solidified her name in the classic melodrama What Happened in Bali with Jo In Sung, the Hallyu star surprised viewers with badass moves in King2Hearts opposite Jo Jung Suk and Lee Seung Gi.

According to Soompi, the actress did most of her stunts in the rom-com series and surprised the team with her refined yet confident martial arts skills.

Interestingly, the 43-year-old star has a background in martial arts and sees combat training as her exercise routine.

Ja Ji Won Workout: This Hallyu Star is a Martial Arts Expert

Aside from mesmerizing viewers with her beauty and captivating fans with her acting skills, Ha Ji Won is also well-versed in sports, particularly martial arts.

It is also the reason why Hallyu dubbed her as the "action queen" for sporting badass moves in Kdramas.

In a separate report by Soompi, renowned martial arts director Jung Du Hong chose the actress as his most talented female Korean action star.

Speaking highly of the award-winning star, he said that "there are no actors in Korea who we can actually label as 'action stars'" except for Ha Ji Won.

In addition, Jung Du Hong also noted that no one could replace the actress, adding, "there is one person who has shown a great amount of action in dramas and movies, along with her excellent acting skills. It's Ha Ji Won. I acknowledge her," the action-director said.

The Hallyu star was able to perfectly pull off action stunts because she was trained and skilled at boxing, swimming, horseback riding, and hapkido, a Korean martial art.

Ha Ji Won Studied Jiu-Jitsu and Ballet for Movie Manhunt

According to the South China Morning Post, Ha Ji Won tells The Straits Times that she learned ballet and jiu-jitsu for the 2017 movie Manhunt.

"I wanted to make sure that I conveyed that smooth flow in my own action scenes, so I worked on my flexibility," noting that she underwent three months of training to learn new skills.

Ha Ji Won plays a female assassin named Rain in the action movie starring Zhang Han Yu, Qi Wei, Fukuyama Masaharu and more.
