Ha Do Kwon Tests Positive For COVID-19; Halts Filming of Several Ongoing Shows

Ha Do Kwon is currently one of the rising stars in the Korean movie and TV industry, but he has to halt his stardom temporarily.

Despite majoring in vocal music at the Seoul National University, Ha Do Kwon fell in love more with acting that he opted to be part of several series and shows instead.

Starting in 2016, the Korean star launched his acting journey by starring in The Map Against the World and Gogh, The Starry Night. Since then, he began receiving more attention and projects that honed his skills and capacity even more.

So far, he already has over 20 titles under his belt, including Still, 17, Roman Holiday, The Last Empress, Hit Stove Leave, Memorist, Vertigo, The Penthouse, and Through the Darkness, to name a few. While Ha Do Kwon has a lot of work recently, he needed to stop for a while to focus on his recovery after contracting COVID-19.

Ha Do Kwon Tests Positive For COVID-19

Ha Do Kwon’s agency, 935 Entertainment, confirmed on Friday that the actor had to cancel his schedule after contracting COVID-19. The company said that the decision came after his test results came back positive during the previous afternoon.

Among the dramas he has to sit out are Red Heart, Sh**ting Stars, and A Superior Day. He also decided to sit out from the latter’s scheduled press conference.

“As the spread of COVID-19 has been increasing rapidly of late, [Ha Do Kwon] has been periodically testing himself using self-test kits. When his self-test returned a positive result on March 10, he immediately went to a nearby hospital and underwent PCR testing, and later that day, his test results came back positive,” the agency said.

It assured the fans that Ha Do Kwon received his complete doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and currently does not have any symptoms.

Although he has to skip his appearances in several shows, Ha Do Kwon said he would use the time to recover as soon as possible.

Ha Do Kwon Promises to Show New Side of Him

Ha Do Kwon’s time away from the spotlight will be worth it as he is about to show the side of him he never unleashed before.

In A Superior Day, the actor will play the role of professional hitman, Bae Tae Jin, who is chasing serial killer Kwon Si Woo. His character has been known as a perfectionist who never committed any mistake in his career. However, he has one mission he is yet to accomplish involving a faceless serial killer.

Fans will see this side of Ha Do Kwon upon the arrival of the new K-drama.

A Superior Day will premiere on March 13, while Sh**ting Stars will begin in April. Both series have not addressed whether Ha Do Kwon’s absence would affect their release dates.
