Guy Pearce In Talks To Join Bloodshot And Replace Michael Sheen

The production of Sony's Bloodshot movie has just begun and now it looks like the film is going through a major recasting with Guy Pearce in talks to take over a key role by Michael Sheen.

According to a new report by Variety, Sony is currently negotiating with Pearce to take Sheen's place in their upcoming Bloodshoot movie starring action star Vin Diesel. Sheen had to exit the upcoming science fiction action thriller project because of issues with his schedule, leaving behind the role of Dr. Emil Harting, the scientist who created the nanotechnology that flows through Bloodshot's body, allowing him to heal faster and push beyond human limits.

If Sony is able to finalize the deal with Pearce, then the actor know for Iron Man 3 and Memento is to become the new Dr. Emil Harting, an important player in the origin of Vin Diesel's Bloodshot.

For those who aren't familiar with the comic series, Bloodshot was created by Bob Layton, Kevin VanHook and Don Perlin for Valiant Comics back in 1992. Telling the story of a mortally wounded soldier granted the ability to regenerate and morph his body thanks to the nanotechnology in his bloodstream, the Bloodshot comic book series became popular among readers from Valiant.

Bloodshot is expected to premiere sometime in 2020 with Dave Wilson directing the film.
