Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Trailer Reveals First Female Lead


Mobile Suit Gundam is getting a new anime later this year and it's going to be an interesting change for the franchise! The brief teaser for Gundam: The Witch from Mercury confirms that the new series will feature a female lead character and the new Gundam Aerial!

The Gundam: The Witch from Mercury teaser was dropped by Bandai Namco during the Gundam conference but it doesn't show a lot of footage and we don't get to see any action just yet. However, it does feature our first look at the mysterious new female character who will pilot the Gundam Aerial in the anime. Check it out below.

Gundam: The Witch From Mercury ("Kido Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo") is the first anime series from the franchise in seven years following the conclusion of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans back in 2016. The new show was initially announced in September 2021 and is now expected to be dropped later this year.

For now, details about Gundam: The Witch from Mercury have not yet been revealed. However, it is believed that the new anime will explore the mystical prospects within the Gundam universe.

It will still be a long wait for the anime but the franchise has something awesome for fans who want to make the wait a lot easier. A prologue project titled Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Prologue is expected to debut this summer at the Gundam Factory in Yokohama. The project will then go on a tour of the franchise’s establishments across Japan and China, including the Gundam metaverse project at the future site of the Gundam Base Virtual World. The prologue is also set to introduce two new mobile suits named Lfrith and Beguir-Beu.

Gundam: The Witch from Mercury has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is already expected to premiere in October 2022.
