Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Michael Rosenbaum Confirms Martinex Return in MCU Sequel

There is little doubt that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will bring back most of the characters that we have already met and loved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. Interestingly, it looks like the sequel will also bring back some characters that we have yet to learn more about. Michael Rosenbaum has confirmed that Martinex will be returning in the third Guardians movie, which means that Stakar Ogord's crew will play an important role in the film!

Martinex was first introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 along with Sylvester Stallone's Stakar Ogord. One of the mid-credits scenes even showed how the two were reunited with their former Ravager teammates, which led to speculations that the group will appear in the next movie.

So is it happening? Michael Rosenbaum recently tweeted about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 footage that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 and confirmed that Martinex was in the teaser.

The footage that was screened during the panel at Hall H has not yet been officially released so we can't confirm it ourselves. Still, it's great to know that Martinex will be back and there's a huge chance that Stakar's team are returning as well.

Stakar Ogord's team also includes his wife Aleta Ogord who is played by Michelle Yeoh, who has also portrayed a different character in the MCU. The Crazy Rich Asians star previously appeared in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings where she was introduced as Ying Nan. In addition to that, the team included Ving Rhames as Charlie-27, Krugarr, and Mainframe, who is voiced by Miley Cyrus.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is once again being directed by James Gunn. The film will premiere in theaters on May 5, 2023.
