Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Story Arcs Teased

In the original movie of Guardians of the Galaxy, viewers were able to see the world from the eyes of Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord. When director James Gunn said that he is taking a different route with the sequel.

And he actually, truly is. In an interview with Cinema Blend, Gunn revealed that this time, he is giving each character a focus and a storyline.

"The first movie was about Peter Quill, and the second movie has every single character have a complete arc, a complete story. They each learn something. It's a story about Peter Quill, with his father, but also his abusive step-father, Yondu."

Gunn also touched on the relationship between Gamora and sister Nebula. We already know that their relationship is rocky, but for the sequel, it seems that Gamora may actually be hiding a darkness and Nebula some goodness.

Interestingly, Rocket also shows some father issues in the sequel. And Gunn has hinted that Yondu may provide this particular relationship. And then of course, there's Drax and Mantis' very complicated encounter and friendship.

Finally, there's Groot who's turned no less than a baby with possibly the world's worst parents possible. Thanks to Gamora and Rocket, he may have a chance, but with Star-Lord and Drax, we might not be able to get much out in terms of rearing Baby Groot. Still, he will be playing a big role in as far as being part of everyone's narrative.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be out in theaters on April 25.
