The Russo brothers are seemingly on a Marvel break these days following the epic conclusion of the Avengers Infinity Saga but that doesn't mean they can't work with the stars of the billion-dollar franchise in other projects. Earlier this year, Joe and Anthony reunited with Thor star Chris Hemsworth for Extraction and it proved to be a massive success that broke streaming records left and right. Now, the directorial duo is once again teaming up with another MCU actor for a future project.
According to a report from GamesRadar, the Russo Brothers will be working with Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt in an action-comedy flick titled Saigon Bodyguards, an adaptation of a Vietnamese film of the same title. Joe and Anthony will serve as producers for the project with the screenplay being penned by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck. Other details about the film are still being kept under wraps.
Now, I wouldn't be so shocked if the film ends up becoming another sleeper hit just like Extraction considering the fact that The Russos are behind it. It's also great that they're pushing the envelope even further for superhero filmmakers and they're proving that there's no need to be stuck in a single bubble. That's not to say though that I wouldn't want to see them back in the MCU because let's face it, they've done a tremendous job in the franchise ever since they made their debut in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
As for Chris Pratt, he's wrapped up filming for Jurassic World: Dominion.
