Anticipation has been building up for months now for Disney+'s first Marvel spinoff series WandaVision and its stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany have been hyping up the show ahead of its eventual release later this year. In a special interview with Entertainment Weekly, the two Marvel stars expressed their excitement over the "bonkers" project which will be the first of its kind in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Olsen, WandaVision will definitely explore Wanda Maximoff's true origins, and this time around, they'll be focusing more on her source material like previous films haven't done yet. Wanda made her MCU debut in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron and Olsen hopes to continue playing the character in future projects. She said: "Because of this show, I feel like [there's] such a strong sense of ownership of Wanda and I'm so excited now that we've cracked open this other part of her so that there hopefully could be more stories to tell and it's been a such an incredible gift. I really loved doing this show." Check out the full interview below:

I am so looking forward to seeing more of Maximoff in the MCU because quite frankly, I don't think we've seen her reach her full potential yet. I'm also pretty sure that she'll be sticking around in the franchise for the foreseeable future as Kevin Feige seems to be really high on the character, so much so that she's been hailed as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "strongest Avenger". That's quite the endorsement coming from the Marvel Studios president.

WandaVision is slated for release on Disney+ later this year.
