In fact, Grey's Anatomy Season 18 will also feature the return of Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) and Ellis Grey (Kate Burton). And it seems there will be more surprises throughout the season.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been any word about the possible comeback of some of the original Grey's Anatomy cast members that bid the hit TV drama goodbye years ago.

Here's a look at some former cast members that fans want to see on Grey's Anatomy Season 18.

Katherine Heigl was one of the original cast members of Grey's Anatomy. She played the role of Izzie Stevens from Seasons 1 to 6.

In Season 5, Izzie was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic melanoma. And her character was last featured in Grey's Anatomy in Season 6.

Back then, there were speculations that Izzie died following her cancer diagnosis. But in Season 16, it was revealed that not only is she alive, she also got back together with Alex Karev (Justin Chambers).

As of late, there's no confirmation about Heigl's possible return, but it would be nice to see her and Chambers reprise their characters in Season 18.

Sara Ramirez joined the cast of Grey's Anatomy in Season 2. She played the role of Callie Torres, one of the first openly gay characters in the hit ABC TV series.

In Season 12, Callie decided to relocate to New York after her ex-wife, Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) offered her a custody agreement over their daughter, Sofia.

Ramirez's exit from Grey's Anatomy shocked her fans. But following her exit, creator Shonda Rhimes revealed that the actress asked for a break, and she said yes.

Fans of Callie couldn't help but wonder how she has been after all these years. So, seeing her in Grey's Anatomy Season 18 would be a major treat.

Jessica Capshaw's Arizona Robbins

Jessica Capshaw joined Grey's Anatomy in Season 5. She played the role of Arizona Robbins until Season 14.

Arizona reunited with Callie in the Big Apple towards the end of her story arc.

Earlier this year, Capshaw sparked rumors that she could be returning to Grey's Anatomy after she posted a photo while wearing a white New York City t-shirt.

Her Instagram followers were quick to draw connections between the Big Apple-inspired shirt she was wearing and Arizona's decision to relocate to New York in Grey's Anatomy.

However, there hasn't been any confirmation about Capshaw's possible return to the show.
