Grey's Anatomy Season 18 is just two nights away, and fans can't wait to see what will happen to their favorite characters in the upcoming episodes.

ABC has not shared a new teaser for Grey's Anatomy Season 18, but we already know that the premiere installment will feature a crossover episode with Station 19.

Additionally, fans can expect changes at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, especially after the doctors served as COVID-19 front liners throughout the previous season.

Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Giannioti) will no longer be featured in Grey's Anatomy Season 8 but for entirely different reasons.

Jackson decided to quit Grey Sloan Memorial to focus on leading the Fox Foundation in Boston.

Andrew, on the other hand, passed away in Grey's Anatomy Season 17.

The main characters from Grey's Anatomy, like Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Webber (James Pickens Jr.), Owen (Kevin McKidd), Teddy (Kim Raver), and more, will be featured in season 18.

Before Grey's Anatomy Season 18 premieres this week, here are more spoilers and predictions that are worth reading.

Will Meredith Grey find love in Grey's Anatomy Season 18?

One of the biggest questions this season is whether Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will find love in the upcoming episodes of the hit ABC TV series.

Last season, the lead character shared a special moment with Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood) before Grey's Anatomy Season 17 wrapped up. So, it's not surprising for fans to wonder if their flirty moment can progress into something more serious.

While speaking with TV Line, executive producer Meg Marinis stressed that Meredith wouldn't be looking for love in Grey's Anatomy Season 18. However, this doesn't mean that love won't find the lead character.

"I think [Meredith, played by Ellen Pompeo] went through the wringer last season. Even though she was in a bed [for much of Season 17 as she battled COVID], she did just lose DeLuca. I don't think she's actively looking for it. Now, does that mean it won't possibly find her?" she said.

Since Meredith just beat COVID-19 last season, Marinis said she would continue to focus on her recovery, career, and family. After all, they always come first.

Will Meredith, Hayes, and Jo be in a love triangle?

Since Meredith and Hayes' possible relationship hasn't been ruled out completely, audiences can expect to see the two characters sharing airtime in the upcoming episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 18.

But let us not forget that there's another character on the show who is also single when the series premieres this week.

Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) just lost Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) to Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl). So, last season was all about having fun and hooking up for Jo.

But now that Jackson is no longer around, it's possible for Jo and Hayes also to explore their relationship. Didn't share flirty looks in the previous season? They sure did!

Fans of Grey's Anatomy are well aware that Jo and Link (Chris Carmack) are close friends.

In the previous season, Link helped make Jo's lifelong dream of becoming a mom come true.

He agreed to adopt a baby girl under his name because Jo knew that her application wouldn't be approved.

There's also no denying the fact that Link deserves to find love in Grey's Anatomy Season 18. After all, he proposed to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) last season, but the latter wasn't ready to tie the knot with him.

How will Jo react to Addison's return in Grey's Anatomy Season 18?

Other than Jo's possible love storyline, most of the season will also focus on her new specialty. After working as a surgeon for years, Jo recently decided to pursue a career in pediatrics.

Since Addison specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and fetal surgery, she and Jo are likely to cross paths in Grey's Anatomy Season 18.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Luddington teased what Jo and Addison's relationship would be like in the upcoming episodes.

"She is back and it is kind of like she's never left before. I feel like her presence in scenes is that she kind of owns the hospital. I am like, 'Oh my god, it is Addison.' But I think we can say that she is working on a really amazing case that Jo is desperate to get in on. It's always possible there is drama," she said.

Luddington also confirmed that Jo would be blonde when Grey's Anatomy Season 18 premieres. However, it is unclear if Jo will rock her new hair color until the end of season 18.

Grey's Anatomy Season 18 will kick off the show's 'next phase'

Earlier this year, ABC signature president Jonnie Davis said that the show's executive producers are gearing up for the next phase of Grey's Anatomy.

While speaking with Deadline, Davis said that the entire team is digging deep and finding out what the next phase looks like.

"They are noodling ideas, and I can't wait to when we land on what that is to introduce the next phase of Grey's Anatomy. We will find the next version that will take it to the next 18 years. We're working on it for right now, and there are no better brains to figure it out than Krista and Shonda," the source said.

Will Maggie and Winston's wedding push through in Grey's Anatomy Season 18?

Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Winston (Anthony Hill) almost tied the knot last season. They were about to exchange their vows when their parents encouraged them to postpone their wedding.

The couple agreed, but their decision not to push through with their wedding may affect their relationship.

We hate to be too cynical. Of course, there's also a possibility for Maggie and Winston to settle down in Grey's Anatomy Season 18.

When will Grey's Anatomy Season 18 premiere?

Grey's Anatomy Season 18 will premiere on ABC on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 9 p.m. ET.

The premiere episode titled Here Comes the Sun will air right after the premiere episode for Station 19 Season 5.

What is the plot for Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 1?

ABC released the official synopsis for Here Comes the Sun two weeks ago.

"As the city of Seattle revels at the Phoenix Fair celebrating the city's rebirth post-COVID, the Grey Sloan doctors treat a patient who encounters illegal fireworks. Meanwhile, Bailey has her sights set on hiring new doctors, but she's having trouble finding viable options. Owen and Teddy attempt to take the next step in their engagement, and Meredith has a surprising opportunity when she meets a dynamic doctor from her mother's past," the synopsis reads.

Grey's Anatomy has been on the air for many years. And if you're just attached to all the characters in the hit ABC series, then there's no reason for you not to watch the upcoming episodes from Grey's Anatomy Season 18, starting with this week's installment.
