Gotham is expected to end sometime next year, and the show is planning to bring more classic villains to the show before the curtain falls. Season 5 is going to give us classic villain Bane, and though we had a leaked set photo come out yesterday, we now have an official image courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
Like with every other character in the show, Gotham has taken a few liberties when it comes to their interpretation of Bane. Instead of the classic luchador look from the comics, we have this cyberpunk guy who is more inspired by Bane's look from The Dark Knight Rises. All the tech on his chest also makes him look like Darth Vader.
It's said that Gotham will be introducing the Mutant gang from The Dark Knight Returns comic, and with this look, I have a feeling that Bane is going to be a member of the gang. My guess is that the series will have an episode showing the future of Gotham, and the main villain will be this version of Bane. Other series have episodes set in the future, so I wouldn't be surprised if Gotham pulled something like that with its final season.
With the final season of Gotham, the showrunners are focusing on bringing Batman to the story finally. After years of teasing, Season 5 will finally have Bruce Wayne sporting the classic cape and cowl and finally going out to kick some ass.
Gotham 5 is expected to conclude sometime next year.
