GOT7 Mark lived up to his motto in life, and he reminds himself of it by tattooing the statement to his body.

Idols are expected to hide their tattoos regardless of their size due to strict broadcasting guidelines in South Korea.

Still, the idols and fans are proud of those arts as they reveal more stories about the K-pop stars.

For Mark, one of his tattoos is actually his motto in life, and he divulged how it helps him cope with his everyday life.

GOT7 Mark Shares One Tattoo + Meaning Behind It

With his solo and GOT7 returns, Mark has been open about what he’s up to through a new interview with Singles Magazine.

In one part of the discussion, the Not By The Moon hitmaker said that his life motto is “Stay true, be real,” and he had the statement tattooed on his body.

“Even before I debuted, my friends jokingly said to me, ‘don’t change when you get famous’ and ‘don’t forget us,’ but from a certain moment on, I felt that I had established myself as the image I wanted to be most wary about,” he said.

Mark also explained how he never wants to hear someone say he has changed. Thus, he wants to communicate with others more sincerely despite being quiet before his debut.

When he debuted, the K-pop idol began to open up himself even more and share what he thinks freely.

His motto Stay True/Be Real is tattooed above each of his knees so he would not cause his fame to get to him.

Mark’s Other Tattoos

Aside from those words, he also has more tattoos that allow him to live with no regrets.

The dove, one of his most recent tattoos, signifies a new beginning, hope, and freedom. This mirrored what he now feels like as a solo artist while promoting with GOT7.

He also has hibiscus – the national flower of South Korea -- on the back of his bicep to remind him of his roots despite being born in America.

His other inks include a smiley face on his kneecap and a butterfly on his heel.
