Goo Hara’s memories still linger on his KARA co-members, especially Park Gyu Ri.

The K-pop industry has been introducing K-pop idols and groups to the public since the Hallyu Wave entered the international scene. One of the famous groups between the 2000s and 2010s, KARA, offered its music to fans despite going through a lot of issues.

For what it’s worth, its debut was not well-received despite the fact that they were the successors of Fin.K.L. Still, it managed to reach the top after losing and adding members.

But the worst news came when Goo Hara, one of the original members, died.

Goo Hara’s Death Still Hurts Park Gyu Ri

KARA’s member Park Gyu Ri recently made a guest appearance on Channel A’s television show, Golden Clinic.

During the June 24 episode of the show (as reported by SBS News), the K-pop idol talked to psychiatrist Dr. Oh Eun Young and opened up about the depression she has been enduring for some time.

Per Park Gyu Ri, she started to feel that nothing is important in her life these days. Currently, she lives with her dog and sees no hope for them.

Heartbreakingly, she thought of jumping off her hotel room during one of her recent solo trips as she believed she would not feel hurt anymore if she did it.

Her pain is seemingly rooted in the time her friend and labelmate, Goo Hara, died in 2019.

"I'm not blaming her for anything, but when Ha Ra left like that, I felt my thoughts and values shaking and collapsing for the very first time. I just never thought someone as pretty as her, who is much loved, would ever leave the world that way,” she emotionally said.

Park Gyu Ri wiped her tears and said that she did not know if it was okay to relate her depression to Goo Hara’s death. However, she spent her 20s with her and losing her truly shocked her.

After saying that she wanted to do the same thing as Goo Hara did, the psychiatrist started helping her to make things a little bearable.

Goo Hara Died After Multiple Suicide Attempts

Goo Hara was found dead in her home in November 2019. It happened months after she attempted to commit suicide several times.

In May of that year, she caused a commotion when she posted the word “Goodbye” on her Instagram. She was found unconscious at that time and was taken to the hospital. She later apologized to fans.

A month later, Goo Hara threatened to take legal action against malicious comments. She finally revealed that she was suffering from depression. Things got worse for her when her ex-boyfriend, Choi Jong Bum, blackmailed her and threatened to release a private video of them.

Goo Hara’s death followed the passing of two more K-pop idols, Sulli and Kim Jong Hyun.
