JTBC’s new K-drama, My Liberation Notes, is experiencing low ratings, despite featuring some of the best actors and a compelling life story. Thankfully, Gong Yoo comes to the rescue and promotes the show, which is deemed effective.

My Liberation Notes is still ongoing, dropping four episodes so far. However, it is yet to receive a warm acceptance from the viewers, probably because of the characters’ monotonous lives, so Gong Yoo asks everyone to give it a try.

Gong Yoo Comes to My Liberation Notes Rescue

The series tells the story of three siblings, Yeon Chang Hee (Lee Min Ki), Yeom Mi Jeong (Kim Ji Won) and Yeom Gi Jeong (Lee El). It also features Mr. Gu (Son Suk Ku), a mysterious character who wants the three to have freedom and liberation from their mundane lives.

Thanks to its relatable characters and realistic storylines, viewers who have already seen the show have nothing but good praise for it. However, it still experiences low TV ratings.

Koreaboo noted it might have something to do with its somber or slow storyline. With that said, many are urging people to give it a try, including Gong Yoo.

The Silent Sea star promotes the series to his 3.3 million Instagram followers in a couple of posts.

“I worship you,” he captioned his first post with a photo of the show’s official image. This phrase is an iconic line from the K-drama itself.

He then talked about the show’s low ratings in his next post. He told everyone not to focus on the numbers and encouraged them to watch the series themselves.

“Viewer ratings? Don’t chase after that…Give it all~~ to me like a warrior. Explode all the love!” he said.

Cast Talks About My Liberation Notes

Before the show premiered on April 9, its lead stars revealed the key points viewers should look forward to. With 12 episodes remaining, fans are up for a lot of surprises and intense turns of events.

“Each character’s individuality is different,” Lee Min Ki said, via Soompi. “While accompanying them on their journeys, if you infer what values and goals they have lived with and how they will ‘liberate’ in the future, your immersion will increase.”

He also discussed the three siblings’ chemistry on screen.

“I don’t have any female siblings, but while filming, I thought it would be nice if [Kim Ji Won and Lee El] were really my sisters,” he added. “Aside from our roles, I had great chemistry with them, and while shooting, I thought, ‘This is the family love between siblings. It’s really nice.’”

In addition, he revealed fans should wait to see the collaboration between director Kim Seok Yoon, writer Park Hae Young and the four actors.

With their trust in each other and as working professionals who could communicate well to perfect their scenes, My Liberation Notes is truly a must-see.
