Godzilla: King of Monsters Gets a Batch of New Stills

Avengers: Endgame may be looking to dominate the April box office, but May will see the arrival of one of the original kings of cinema, Godzilla. Legendary is slowly releasing promos for Godzilla: King of Monsters, and we have a batch of new stills featuring Godzilla, King Ghidorah, as well as the main cast of characters.

Check them out:

We see here that Ken Watanabe will be making a return to the franchise, but we don't really know what part he has to play in the film yet. We know that Vera Farmiga's character is supposed to be a worker for Monarch, and Millie Bobby Brown will have some sort of special connection with the Kaiju.

Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) is a curious character though. His name isn't listed in the cast list, but I'm guessing he either runs Monarch or has some kind of black market dealing that involves the Kaiju—much like Ron Perlman's character from Pacific Rim.

The first trailer for King of Monsters was downright amazing, but I have become admittedly underwhelmed after the release of the second trailer. With the movie only a few months away, I'm sure that one final trailer is going to be released. Let's hope it has the same magic and awe that the first one was able to inspire.

Following the global success of "Godzilla" and "Kong: Skull Island" comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action-adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

Catch Godzilla: King of Monsters when it hits theaters May 31.
