Giancarlo Esposito Talks Working on The Mandalorian, George Lucas’ Involvement

Arguably one of the biggest stars coming to The Mandalorian is Giancarol Esposito (Breaking Bad), and everyone can't wait to see his supposedly ex-Imperial character. Esposito takes the time to talk about working with Jon Favreau, and also gives a little insight as to what Star Wars creator George Lucas brought to the show.

Talking to Collider, Esposito explained:

"I've got a great costume. We got great set pieces. I'm not giving anything away because [Jon Favreau] is an artist, truly an artist. [He was] working with George Lucas on this particular piece and making it a piece that we can really relate to now in our world that we're in."

Besides the involvement of Lucas, Esposito also talks about the different directors that were brought in to work on The Mandalorian. While the pilot is being directed by Clone Wars' Dave Filoni, we also have Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, and Taika Waititi directing episodes. Esposito goes on to say:

"[Jon Favreau] has amassed some incredible directors from different parts of the planet to give their take on an episode. I find that to be so phenomenal because then we have new and fresh ideas every single episode, coming into this show, that reflect the fans—because the directors are also fans. They're from Australia, from England, from wherever you are, it reflects their take of their people on how they saw the original and how they're going to do it as well. So you get new, fresh energy into a piece that is already energetic because of all the stuff that's going on on the screen, because of all the technology that they've worked out. This is going to be a fantastic show."

Though Star Wars Celebration showed off some amazing footage for The Mandalorian, nothing official was release online for the public. We don't know when Lucasfilm plans to give the rest of the world a look at The Mandalorian, but a lot are suspecting it will go hand-in-hand with promotions for Disney+.

For now, expect the first episode of The Mandalorian to debut on Disney+ when it launches Nov. 12.
