Star Wars: A Better Look at The New Ship from The Mandalorian, the Razor Crest

Boba Fett and his ship the Slave I are two things that go hand in hand, so it only makes sense that The Mandalorian would also give Pedro Pascal's Bounty Hunter his own unique ship. The Razor Crest was actually showcased at the Mandalorian panel at SWCC 2019, but nothing official was released. Thanks to artist Darren Tibbles though, we have a good look at the ship.

Check it out:

Take not this isn't officially released art, but it does look very similar to the footage we got from the leaked panel. When we get out official look, I'm sure there's going to be a few changes, but overall this iteration looks very accurate.

You can see there's a clear inspiration from Boba's starship, especially when it comes to the front of the cruiser. Besides any of that, some say that it actually looks close to the Republic Gunship that was introduced during the Clone Wars. I guess it's also worth noting that the back of the ship also looks like the same platform from the Slave I.

During the panel at SWCC, it was revealed that the VFX team created a model of the ship and also shot it the same way as the ships from the original trilogy. Hopefully when Lucasfilm finally gives us some official content for the show, we actually get to see some of the ships in action. One of the main concerns for the television show is the VFX, and I think if Mandalorian could nail this, we could be looking forward to more Star Wars shows down the line.

The first episode of The Mandalorian is expected to come out alongside with Disney+ which launches Nov. 12.
