Giancarlo Esposito Made the 'Right Choice' Debuting in a Star Wars Series Instead of Film

Most actors and actresses would prefer appearing in a film than in a television series, however, Star Wars: The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito is more than happy that he made his Star Wars debut in Jon Favreau's hit television series.

Speaking in an interview with The Collider,Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito discussed his entry in the galaxy far, far away. While some actors would have preferred appearing in a Star Wars film, Esposito believes that he made the correct choice debuting in The Mandalorian.

"Star Wars is iconic. And would I have liked to have been in a Star Wars movie as opposed to The Mandalorian television show?" Esposito told the entertainment news outlet, "I think I've made a significantly correct choice, because what drew me to Star Wars was the mythological aspect of storytelling ... for me, it was an empowering moment."

While we would want to see Moff Gideon appear in a Star Wars film, we do have to say that the character has much more room to grow in The Mandalorian. Though the character didn't get that much screen time in the first season of Favreau's hit Star Wars series, fans know that Gideon is going to have a much larger role to play in the next batch of episodes.

Not only is Gideon hot in the pursuit of Mando (Pedro Pascal) and Baby Yoda, but he has the Darksaber with him as well.

We can't wait to see what Gideon does with the historical Star Wars weapon in season 2 of The Mandalorian.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is available for streaming on Disney+.
